Laguna Lake Loop

CYCLE ORANGE COUNTY, SIGHTSEEING RIDE, LAGUNA LAKE LOOP This bike ride starts at Lake Laguna, a quiet, lush oasis that makes for a great little day trip get-a-way for the family. Built in 1952 and renovated in 2004 this park is nestled in a valley, surrounded by upscale homes. The lake is stocked throughout the year with rainbow trout, bluegill, bass and catfish. A fishing license is required at all times for those 16 and older. Nearby are restrooms and picnic tables. Also nearby is the Equestrian Center complete with a riding ring, show ring and grandstands. The center is home to the Fullerton Recreation Riders, a club that organizes trail rides, campouts, and social events all geared towards families. Consider swapping your iron horse for the real McCoy. These trails are part of a much larger system totaling 28 miles which pass through Fullerton, some of which are challenging and steep with lots of technical sections. Some helpful reminders for sharing trails; cyclists yield to equestrians and pedestrians; pass on the left; stay on the marked trail. Most importantly, ride within your abilities. Both trails are relatively flat and easy, they are, however, unpaved and a bit bumpy so exercise a bit more caution than usual. Also keep in mind that during wet periods this route will become muddy, with some sections becoming outright swamps, so plan your ride accordingly.
