Oceanway Cycle Path Three

CYCLE THE GOLD COAST, SIGHTSEEING RIDE, OCEANWAY CYCLE PATH THREE The Oceanway Cycle Path is made up of three rides totaling 36km. The paths provide an opportunity for locals and visitors alike to get out and exercise all along the length of the Gold Coast, next to the beaches with numerous vistas and headlands providing views across the area. The majority of the bike riding is on off-road cycle paths with just a few short sections of on-road paths and quiet residential streets. This is an especially lovely series of bike rides to do early in the morning, just after sunrise. Unfortunately many others have the same idea so be patient, give way to pedestrians and enjoy the bike ride. This bike ride covers a stretch of beach from Bilinga, through Coolangatta to the end of the Oceanway path at Point Danger, Tweed Heads. Sit back and enjoy the steady cruise along Bilinga, North Kirra, Kirra, Coolangatta and Greenmount beaches. The pathway is flat and open and the views across the beaches are what the Gold Coast is all about. The path is easy to follow so there is no chance of you going astray. After Greenmount Beach, turn right behind the SLSC to head upwards along Hill Street. Keep turning the pedals to the top before descending down towards Rainbow Bay and Snapper Rocks, popular surf spots. Follow the road to Point Danger and the Captain Cook memorial with views south, over the New South Wales border and all the way along the Tweed Coast. FOOD AND DRINK Take your pick! There is a huge selection of cafés, eateries and coffee shops all the way along this ride. ACCESS The start point is just off the Gold Coast Highway, running down the length of the Gold Coast, just in-land from the famous beaches. This is easily accessed from either the north or south via the Pacific Motorway.
