Caloundra is a coastal town located in the Sunshine Coast Region with a population of over 78,962. Caloundra is located a 90 kilometre drive from Brisbane.

A highlight of visiting Caloundra is the Caloundra to Kawana 25 kilometre cycling and pedestrian path featuring headland cliffs, historic sites, nature reserves and an esplanade of shopping and dining. The continuous pathway connects Golden Beach and Bulcock Beach in the south to Kawana in the north, passing by the calm waters of the Pumicestone Passage, the heritage-listed Kings Beach Bathing Pavilion and remnant coastal rainforest at Dicky Beach.


The main bus service in and around Caloundra is Sunbus, they are also the main bus service provider on the Sunshine Coast. As a regional area of Queensland, the Sunshine Coast makes great usage of the air-conditioned mini-buses on offer. This high-frequency service and can pick you up anywhere on the designated route network as long as it is safe to do so. There is no need to find a "bus stop" as with most conventional bus services. The Sunbus personnel are committed to providing a quality service at an affordable price that is poses as a real alternative to using a private motor vehicle. The majority of bus services are provided by Sunbus, however regional links are operated by Glasshouse Country Coaches which include the Maleny, Landsborough & Beerwah service as well as the Hinterland Connect.

The Sunshine Coast Airport is the gateway to some of Queensland's most beautiful holiday destinations such as Noosa, Maroochydore, Coolum, Mooloolaba and Caloundra.

Although this is not an international airport with regular flights to other countries, there are direct daily flights to Sydney and Melbourne which are both international airports, so connecting flights are always available.
