Biking in Arkansas

More fun with the dirt!

Arkansas offers everything you can possibly imagine for your next mtb destination - a moderate four-season climate, variety of terrain, vast expanse of trails and natural beauty at every turn and with three distinct destinations of Hot Springs, Fayetteville and Bentonville all IMBA accredited.

Arkansas features not just one, or even two, but FIVE International Mountain Bicycling Association (IMBA) EPIC Rides, as a tied second place with Colorado for the number of EPIC Rides in one State, behind California with seven. In addition to these impressive trails, IMBA distinguishes the cities of Bentonville, Fayetteville and Hot Springs as Ride Centers for their world-class facilities and high standards of hospitality. Northwest Arkansas has been designated the first ever Regional Ride Center by IMBA.

And while it's not a competition (!!?!), The Natural State is well positioned as a leader in the field. We’re serious about cycling, just like you. In the new Arkansas Mountain Biking Guide we’ve compiled our list of local favorites with help from, IMBA and mountain bike enthusiasts. These are rides you’ll come back to time and time again, because they deliver a different experience with the same familiar reward – the rush, the thrill, the exhilaration, the exhaustion, the feeling of accomplishment – with views you can’t find anywhere else.

What are you waiting for - get on your bike and head out to Arkansas for your next adventure!

Epic Rides

If you plan to visit Hot Springs, don’t forget to taste some dirt of the three epic rides: Womble Trail, Ouachita National Recreation, and Lake Ouachita Vista trails which are just next door. If you’ve done these three, then Upper Buffalo epic ride is around 2-hour drive from either Hot Springs or Fayetteville.

There’s once more epic ride – the Syllamo Trails. Unfortunately, if you’re going to stay in one of the ride centers in Arkansas, it’ll take you a great deal of time to travel to the trails. So we recommend you to check out nearby accommodations such as the River’s Edge Cabin. Also, the surroundings have various eateries, for example, the Mikey's Smoked Meats and Deli, where you can give your tummy a delighted meal before or after the ride.
