Mountain biking in Ellicottville
Ellicottville is home to an awesome IMBA EPIC Ride - the Elliotcotville Loop.
Mountain biking had always been popular at Holiday Valley since the early 90s, with the fall fest race starting at the beginning of that decade. But the riding there was just on dirt roads and downhill ski trails. The Western New York Mountain Bicycling Association (WNYMBA) knew better and set out to prove that cycling could work in the state forests. Over the past 20 years, Ellicottville has gone from a large state forest with no singletrack trails to one of the best cycling destinations in the east.
An excellent guide to mountain biking in the area has been prepared by WNYMBA. Copies are available at the resort and at the Bike and Bean in Ellicottville.
