Overview

As the name suggests, this ride is a classic coastal route that is long and steep; a good challenge for your Girona, Spain cycling experience.

A fantastic getaway that traverses from the heart of the city to Tossa de Mar, creates a loop skirting the shore to Sant Feliu de Guíxols, and turns back to Llagostera before arriving back in Girona on the same path. The shoreline road connecting the two municipalities is praised as one of the most beautiful roads on the planet. It clings to the side of the reddish cliffs over the Mediterranean and offers some of the nicest spots of seaside esplanade restaurants and cafes.

This 68-mile ride includes over 1300 meters of climbing, making it an experienced-level trip. Fortunately, the trail is made easier for people to reach breathtaking views.

Terrain

The roads in and out of Girona are mostly rural with high-quality pavement. It’s rolling with various climbs and descents. There are many medieval stone villages as a backdrop to your ride experience.

Access

The trail starts right at the Pont de Pedra bridge in downtown Girona.
