Some Café’s “cosy and country” atmosphere is reflective of the location, in both the hospitality and style of cooking. “Our menu is pretty simple, we do all the cooking ourselves and try to use as much food as we can from the area.” Co-owners Oliver and Lucy Chiswell follow a paddock-to-plate philosophy in their menus, “we have chickens out back – they give us our eggs. The kitchen garden is on its way too,” they explain.
“We’re keeping the menu simple, trying to use the local produce as it changes with the seasons. We have local cherries for cherry pie and pumpkins in abundance in May.”
The interior has “lots of flowers, a few home made frames and some local artwork,” explains Oliver. “The building’s from the 1820’s, we used some of the original wood to make tables. We’re keeping the space pretty open, there’s a lot of wood and white walls.”
Some Café serves up speciality coffee – “We’re getting our coffee from Allpress in Sydney. They’re a great company and do great coffee”.
