Skyline - Duluth Traverse
Overview
Nicely flowing singletrack with some substantial topography: sustained climb if you are "westbound" or ripping descent if you're "eastbound". Skyline is characteristic for most of the Duluth Traverse.
Terrain
Most of the trail is wide and pretty smooth, some portions offer bermed but comfortable turns.
Access
Skyline is accessible from the Skyline MTB Trail, quite close to the intersection with Stovetop Lover Burner MTB Trail.
If you are heading west, the trail starts right at Skyline Parkway.
More details
For climbers: catch your breath at one of the several fantastic overlooks of the Duluth / Superior harbor.
For descenders: your speed is very important. Some of the berms are too tight to completely let go of the brake levers and they also tend to drop out from underneath you a bit.
Watch out for rainy days since the trail can get wet and slippery.
In case you are still excited at the trail and do not want to stop, the Lincoln trail following the Skyline is another smooth one for you.
