Baby Bear

Overview

Baby Bear is one of the most popular trails in the region. It may be the shortest and easiest loop at Coldwater, but it is totally fun and interesting.

Terrain

The trail is moderately flat and there are several small rollers at first.

Access

The loop is easily accessible from the Coldwater Mountain Bike Trail Head.

Food and drink

Bring your snacks and bottle as there is no eatery along the way.

More details

From the Cold Springs trailhead, take the trail in clockwise direction. It is quite flat with a few small rollers.

When the loop head northeast, you will see an optional line. Prefer the easier one? Bear on right. Otherwise, turn left to feel some flagstone rocks.

Eventually, you will arrive at the intersection with the Mama Bear loop. Make a right turn to maintain on Baby Bear. You will then encounter a small open area, followed by a grove of pines.

The final section descends a bit and then climbs quickly to roll around back to the trailhead.
