This ride may not be your smoothest ever gravel ride but it may well be one of your best!
The ride passes through the iconic grazing landscapes of the Upper Lachlan Shire, with expansive vistas across rolling hillsides and sheep pastures. You'll feel that you have the world to yourself!
Grabine has two day use areas and picnic grounds.
The Bigga to Grabine ride is mostly on gravel. Depending on recent weather conditions and the last road grading, it may be reasonably rough in places, but it will be worth it!
You'll be riding mainly downhill on your way out to Grabine with a sustained climb back to Bigga. The climb is approximately 16km in length and has an average gradient of 1.7%. There are a few places of respite with some short downhill and flat sections as you make your way back up to Bigga.
We suggest starting this ride from the township of Bigga. There are plenty of car parking options in the quiet side streets of the township.
FOOD AND DRINK
Bigga has a general store for some basic supplies though if you want a larger meal pre or post ride or specific snacks during the ride, you'll be best to bring these yourself.
There are public toilet facilities available in Bikka to the right hand side of the general store.
OPTIONAL RIDE DETOURS
For a longer ride, you could extend this ride by also doing the Reid's Flat loop.
