13 Colonies Route

Overview

Ride this historical tour and let's see how well you know the history of the US. You’re going to explore downtown DC on the streets named after 13 original colonies of America. Interesting right? Try to guess what colony is coming up next on your bike adventure while enjoying the views on both sides. You’ll also pass some cool places such as the Art Museum, the National Mall and several parks where you can stop for breaks, sit under the trees and watch the world go by.

Terrain

The terrain is pretty flat and the paths are all paved.

Access

The loop starts and ends at Dupont Circle.

Food and drink

You’re advised to bring some water with you since it’s difficult to reach any eateries without leaving the route. You can find a few restaurants and cafes on the way back to the starting point.
