The Himalayas are home to the Earth’s highest mountains and are a paradise for your next mountain biking experience, especially the Annapurna region, where there are plentiful mtb trails awaiting your adventure. 

This ride from Jomsom to Kagbeni in Lower Mustang is considered a warm-up ride for your time in the area: it's one of the first trails everyone should ride when coming to the Annapurna region.

The trail follows the Kali Gandeki Corridor, providing a shape of two slight curves with a hook in Pangling. It's mellow but at the same time an exciting journey on the roof of the world. Eight miles of riding with some optional pedaling around Kagbeni are idyllic for new visitors to acclimatize to this whole wondrous place.

Riders here take it slow and easy, for a pleasant experience by explorers of all levels. However, it's suggested for riders who are relatively fit and have intermediate skills if planning to conquer further trails on the range.


Jomsom is where the trail begins. Many people choose to take a flight from Kathmandu and land at the Jomsom Airport to start the journey.

Food and drink

Both Jomsom and Kagbeni offer a few nice places for stopping over and enjoying meals. But it's always recommended to bring your own water (and perhaps some snacks) when you're on this ‘high’ adventure.

Kagbeni, the ending of this impressive trail, is a historic village home to a population of Tibetan Buddhist Monks and the gateway to the Upper Mustang. This is where you can stay overnight and get ready for another fantastic ride tomorrow!
