Overview
Bail Out is an intermediate flowing, fall line singletrack, and a downhill trail, similar to other trails in the park. It is around 1.1 miles, which is pretty short, but it doesn’t mean Bail Out isn’t worth the effort.
The ride kicks off under the spruce canopy and ends in the hardwoods at Savers Lake dam. For the shortest distance to the Ballhooter Chairlift, turn right on Shavers Lake Trail. If you’re after more of an adventurer, turn left heading upstream on Shavers Lake Trail.
Terrain
There are a couple of short, flat rock gardens that will challenge your route selection and balance.
Access
Use the Cheat Mountain Ridge Trail. Bail Out starts on the left near the end of Cheat Mountain Ridge Trail just prior to the fire tower.
