Emu Road

Overview

Emu Road is just a short trail of the Blue Tier Forest Reserve (less than half km). However, don’t underestimate it since this one is not for the amateurs.

Emu Road is a primitive and tough but yet rewarding climb. It runs through lush rainforest, following an old forestry road that is still sometimes used by 4WDs. This trail is also the access road to the RC Track and to climb to Poimena.

Terrain

Expect a pretty challenging climb on rough terrain.

Access

From the Weldborough Hotel, head south on Tasman Highway. The Emu Road is on your left just a few meters away from the hotel.

Food and drink

Please prepare your own water and snack.
